The Opportunity Ladder Scholarship

This scholarship was created by a retired professional whose road to personal and career success as a single parent started with an Associate Degree from LBCC five decades ago. This scholarship is created to support and encourage other individuals who have demonstrated focus, determination and a willingness to put forth effort to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.

This fund shall support students at Linn-Benton Community College who are on a career path and is not restricted by area of study, personal background or stage in life.

Award may be used for education-related expenses such as tuition, fees & books and living expenses.

1. Student must have a declared major.
2. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.00.
3. Must be enrolled full-time (12 credits or more). May be a DPP student.
4. The applicant a is asked to write a brief statement detailing how this scholarship can help them reach their aspirations.
5. Preference given to single parents.

Applications are accepted Spring term to be paid out in equal amounts Fall, Winter and Spring terms.
