Marsden Chisholm Willingham Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Marsden Chisholm (Chis) Willingham Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is available for students taking classes in Creative Writing, English, Speech Communication, Journalism and Mass Communications, Music or Theater. Applicant must be a resident of Linn or Benton County. Any high school graduate may apply with preference given to graduates of Crescent Valley H.S. Applicants must have completed 45 credits at time of application. Financial need as based on the Student Budget Sheet and a GPA of at least 2.0 are required. Application must include written statement describing how applicant has selflessly contributed to their community or the welfare of others.
NOTE: Students in an extended high school program are not eligible.
Recipients will be selected based on the following:
Academic Subject Area: Creative Writing, English, Speech Communication, Journalism, Mass Communications, Music or Theater
Recipient must show financial need
Must be Oregon Resident
Must be a Linn or Benton Co. resident
Preference given to Crescent Valley High School graduate (other high school graduates may apply.)
Must have completed 45 credits at time of application.
May be a dual-enrollment student
Funds may be used for dual enrollment expenses
Requires a minimum GPA of 2.0
Available to High School Seniors (restrictions may apply).
Student’s year at LBCC when receiving award: No Preference
This scholarship is available for creative writing, and/or performing arts students. A separate written statement included with application must be provided indicating student’s altruistic experiences in life. Application must include two recommendations from faculty who teach in the areas of creative writing, theater, drama, or performing arts.
Scholarships can be used for: Tuition, fees, books, childcare, living expenses and/or special needs.
