Linn County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Scholarship Endowment

This scholarship prioritizes applicants in the following order: Vietnam vets, spouse or offspring of Vietnam vets, disabled vets, vets of other wars, spouse or offspring of other vets. Student must have GPA of 2.4 or better, demonstrate activity within community and applicants from Linn County will be given preference. Applicant must supply documentation to verify veteran qualifications for this scholarship. Applicant must be degree/certificate seeking in any major and show financial need. Recipient must attend a minimum of three-quarter time or 9 credits enrollment (with a minimum of 6 credits at LBCC.) LBCC/OSU Degree Partnership credits may be combined toward the minimum 9 credits (with a minimum of 6 credits at LBCC.)

Recipients will be selected based on the following:
Academic Subject Area: Any subject area
Recipient must show financial need
Must be Oregon Resident
Preference to Linn County resident.
May be a dual-enrollment student
Funds may be used for dual enrollment expenses
Requires a minimum GPA of 2.4
Student’s year at LBCC when receiving award: No Preference

Applicant must include a statement with their application describing their relationship to the Vietnam Veteran requirement.
Award Selection Priorities: 1. Vietnam Veteran 2. Spouse or offspring of Vietnam Veteran to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren (natural and/or step-children) 3. Any disabled Veteran 4. Other Veterans 5. Spouse or offspring of other Veterans
Minimum enrollment of three-quarter time (9 credits) with a minimum of 6 credits at LBCC if Degree Partnership Program Student
Scholarships can be used for: Tuition, fees, books, childcare, living expenses and/or special needs.

Award Amount: $1,500
Number of Awards available: 3
Apply during Spring Term
Enrollment requirement per term: minimum 3/4 Time (9 credit hours)
Term(s) award to be paid: Fall,  Winter

A thank you letter is required upon receipt of the award.
