Robert Dale Schmidt Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Rob Schmidt (1969-2000) was tragically killed in a highway accident April 20, 2000. This scholarship program is intended to memorialize Rob’s adventurous, humanitarian and loving spirit and to give others like Rob a chance to make a better life for them and help make a better world for all of us through education. Rob had been a student at LBCC and Portland Community College, and was a “student of life” with deep interests in philosophy, world cultures and adventurous travel. Rob loved people, especially the underdog and disenfranchised, and people loved him in return.
