Myrtle Spencer Endowed Scholarship

Myrtle Violet Spencer, 89, of Sweet Home passed away on October 12, 2007. She grew up in Foster and graduated from Sweet Home High School. When she was young, Myrtle was always interested in music. She sang with several groups and also played piano with a group for dances. Later in life she enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and bird watching.

Scholarship to provide awards to students with financial need who reside in Linn County. Student may be enrolled in any LBCC major program seeking a certificate or degree.

Linn County residents only
May be a dual-enrollment student
Requires a minimum GPA of 2.0
Student’s year at LBCC when receiving award: No Preference
Applicants must reside in Linn County, Oregon. Financial need based on the FASFA. LBCC/OSU Degree Partnership students must be enrolled for a minimum 6 credits at LBCC (OSU 100 or 200 level courses qualify.)
Scholarships can be used for: tuition/fees, books, childcare, living expenses and/or special needs

Enrollment requirement per term: 12 or more credit hrs.

Students must submit a thank you letter and attend the annual Scholarship Reception
