Eric Mann Memorial Scholarship Endowment

Eric Mann was a young man raised in Albany, Oregon; where he attended all his school years through graduation from South Albany High School in 1986. He was ambitious, goal-driven, and extremely hard working; he usually worked the maximum allowable hours his last two years in high school. In addition, he loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but for the love of nature and the activity rather than collecting game. He was a zealous catch and release enthusiast when fishing, and his hunting trips generally revolved around what he saw. Through his hunting and fishing activities, he gained many friends, both peers and older adults. Eric was attending Eastern Oregon University when he drowned at the Oregon coast during his freshman year. For his age, he truly knew the value of achieving an education; thus, it seems fitting that this scholarship be established in his memory.
