Karri Byrum Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been established in memory of Karri Rae Byram, a beautiful human who worked to help students at LBCC succeed in their education. She was truly a “Student Champion” in every way. Karri graduated from LBCC and worked at the college in various capacities for over 22 years.

Anyone who knew Karri knew how much she loved everything about car racing. As a child, Karri grew up attending racing events with her family, often assisting drivers with tasks that she could do at a young age. Scott, the love of her life, is a race car driver. Karri and Scott, their children, and now grandchildren, have a long history of being involved with racing, especially at the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Oregon. Scott and their son Michael are both race car drivers and their grandson Brailynn and granddaughter Evelyn are catching the racing bug. Karri and her daughter Clara frequently helped out at Willamette Speedway with 50-50 raffles, working the concession stand and supporting the race track in any way they could.

Karri was ecstatic when LBCC opened the Advanced Transportation and Technology Center (ATTC) in Lebanon. She was incredibly proud and giddy knowing students would be able to attend a wonderful new facility, supported by the local community to obtain their automotive degree.

To honor Karri’s memory, her family has established a memorial scholarship to support a local student in the Automotive Technology program. Preference will be to support a female student from Lebanon.
