Joseph Novak Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established in 2018 in memory of Joseph Novak, a metallurgist, space engineer, successful restauranteur, LBCC Board member/chair, Chaplain, politically active patriot, Lover of Christ, family man, and volunteer extraordinaire. Upon Joseph’s passing, donations were collected to create this scholarship fund.

Funds will be used to award one scholarship up to the maximum available in the fund. This scholarship will be distributed equally over fall, winter and spring terms. The recipient must be a full-time degree/certificate seeking students with financial need. Students also must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA. They must be an Oregon resident or an International Student. To be used for tuition and books only. Preference given to veterans and students earning a degree/certificate in Industrial/Vocational Arts including Non-Destructive Testing. Student can receive the award multiple times.
Recipients will be selected based on the following:
Recipient must show financial need
Must be Oregon Resident
Must be a Linn or Benton Co. Resident
May be a dual-enrollment student
Requires a minimum GPA of 2.5
Student’s year at LBCC when receiving award: No preference
Scholarships can be used for: Tuition, books only.
Award Amount: $650
Number of Awards available: 1
Apply during Spring Term
Enrollment requirement per term: minimum of 12 credit hours
Term(s) award to be paid: Fall
